Teaching Assistant at The Juilliard School

As a C. V. Starr Doctoral Fellow studying at The Juilliard School, DeCaprio is currently a Teaching Assistant to Joel Krosnick, Cello Faculty and Chair of the Cello Department. This position allows DeCaprio to teach substitute and supplemental lessons to both undergraduate and graduate cello students studying at Juilliard, as well as assist in weekly studio classes.

Cello Faculty at Musart Music

Since the Fall of 2019, DeCaprio (or Dr. Sam as his students call him!) has maintained a vibrant cello studio at the Musart Music School in Syosset, New York. Dedicated to helping guide the next generation of cellists, his teaching focuses intensively on building solid technique, while simultaneously encouraging creativity in the shaping and growth of musical ideas.
