Teaching Assistant at The Juilliard School

A recent graduate of the doctoral program at The Juilliard School, DeCaprio is currently a Teaching Assistant to Nina Lee, Cello Faculty. This position allows DeCaprio to teach substitute and supplemental lessons to both undergraduate and graduate cello students studying at Juilliard, as well as assist in studio classes.

Cello Faculty at Musart Music

Since the Fall of 2019, DeCaprio (or Dr. Sam as his students call him!) has maintained a vibrant cello studio at the Musart Music School in Syosset, New York. Dedicated to helping guide the next generation of cellists, his teaching focuses intensively on building solid technique, while simultaneously encouraging creativity in the shaping and growth of musical ideas.

Private Teaching

In addition to his teaching at Juilliard and Musart, DeCaprio currently maintains a very small private studio in both New York City and Connecticut. There are currently openings in his studio in Norwalk, CT. If interested in a trial lesson, please CLICK HERE to get in touch. Happy practicing!
